Case Study · The Limitless Agency

From content specialist to the agency's sole technical SEO lead

Eighteen months, one agency, and a role that kept expanding — because the technical work kept needing to get done. Here's how a content role turned into full ownership of the technical health of 70+ client sites.

01 The starting point

I joined The Limitless Agency in July 2024 as an Informational Intent Content Specialist. The brief was content: planning and auditing pages for search intent, writing calls-to-action, and building internal linking structures to support the user journey. But even early on, the role included technical SEO audits and keyword research in Ahrefs — the content and technical sides were never fully separate.

02 How the role grew

  • Jul 2024

    Informational Intent Content Specialist

Planned, audited, and optimized content to align with search intent. Wrote CTAs and internal linking structures, and ran technical SEO audits and keyword research in Ahrefs.

  • Jan 2025

    Promoted to Technical SEO Specialist

Led a QA project clearing a 400+ post backlog, coordinated fixes directly with developers, and tracked weekly output for the on-page SEO team.

  • 2025 — Present

    Sole Technical SEO Assistant

Full ownership of weekly technical health monitoring across 70+ client sites — spotting error patterns, filing dev tickets, and reporting to strategists in biweekly syncs. Named one of the on-page team's designated SEO strategist reps.

03 What the role covers today

Weekly Retainers

Ahrefs site-health monitoring across 70+ client sites, dev ticket triage, and biweekly technical SEO syncs with strategists.

Client Onboarding

Ahrefs configuration, site architecture planning, plugin setup, and full-site audits covering CRO, taxonomy, and metadata.

Strategist & Client Requests

Anchor text optimization, metadata improvements, 301 cleanup, and content audits following page removals or migrations.

Dev Coordination

Filing and tracking fixes for 404/301 errors, canonical tags, broken JavaScript, and custom taxonomy requests.
